Chat

EBRAINS offers an instant messaging service to all EBRAINS users. Only EBRAINS users that have logged in to the chat at least once can be accessed via the chat.

The chat is accessible at https://chat.ebrains.eu

Client apps are available for your desktop and smartphone at https://rocket.chat/install. Look for the Desktop Apps and Mobile Apps sections lower down on that page. If you have issues with an app on your first login attempt, please try the web access to it once and then try the app again. If you send a chat message to a user not logged in, the user receives the message by email.

The chat is self-hosted in the EBRAINS infrastructure but users are invited to apply good judgement when transmitting confidential information as for any other communication channel.

When creating a channel, the user creating it is its owner and can add other users to the channel. From the list of users, the channel owner can add roles to each user: owner, moderator, …
