EBRAINS Stats Integration

EBRAINS Stats provides user analytics and behavior tracking for EBRAINS services using Matomo, an open-source analytics platform. By integrating analytics into your service, you gain insights into user engagement, feature usage, and service performance.

Your analytics data automatically flows into the Open Metrics Framework for centralized monitoring and reporting.

Requesting a Matomo Tracking Snippet

Submit a Request via the EBRAINS Forms service

  1. Navigate to the EBRAINS Stats Service Request.
  2. Fill in the required fields:
    • Service Name.
      Provide the official name of your service.
    • Primary URL(s).
      Provide the main url(s) to track. If more than one domain is used, separate them with " - “.
    • Description.
      Provide a brief explanation of your service.

Receive Your Snippet

Support team will:

  • Create a Matomo site ID for your service
  • Pre-configure basic tracking
  • Provide you with a customized JavaScript snippet to be integrated into your codebase

Activating Analytics Collection

Once you integrate the provided JavaScript snippet into your service’s codebase, analytics data will start being collected and sent to the EBRAINS Stats service. This integration step must be performed by the service owner as part of the service implementation or deployment process.
