How to Open Issues
Steps to Open Issue Successfully
Visit the Project
Navigate to GitLab at EBRAINS and log in using your EBRAINS credentials.
Go to the specific project where you want to open an issue. You can find your
projects under the Projects menu in the top navigation bar or use the search bar to locate the project.
Access the Issues Page
Within the project you wish to open an issue to, locate the issues tab located in the left sidebar and click on it.
Create a New Issue
Click on the New issue button in the top right corner of the Issues page.
Choose a Description Template
- In the issue creation form, you will see a
Descriptionfield. - Below the Description field, there is a
Choose a templatedropdown. Click on it to reveal available templates. - Select the appropriate template (e.g., “Bug Report” or “Feature Request”) or keep it empty.
Fill in the Details
Fill in the details according to the template placeholders. Make sure to provide as much information as possible.
Assign the Issue
- Right below of the issue description form, you will see an
Assigneesection. - Click on the
Assigneedropdown to select the team member responsible for handling the issue.
Set Labels and Milestones (Optional)
You can also add labels to categorize the issue by clicking on the Labels dropdown.

If the issue is part of a specific milestone, select it from the Milestone dropdown.
Submit the Issue
- Review all the information you have entered to ensure accuracy.
- Click the
Create issuebutton at the bottom of the form to create the issue.
